About Virtual Norwegian
Welcome to Virtual Norwegian, your gateway to an immersive and realistic flight simulation experience! Our virtual airline brings to life the operations of the real Norwegian, blending the rich history of the airline with modern aviation technology. Whether you’re passionate about short domestic hops or transcontinental journeys, Virtual Norwegian offers a diverse range of routes and aircraft to suit every kind of virtual pilot.

Legacy of Excellence

Norwegian, founded in 1993, began its journey as a regional carrier, taking over routes in Western Norway after the bankruptcy of Busy Bee. In its early years, Norwegian operated Fokker 50 aircraft under a wet lease agreement for Braathens, establishing a strong presence in the Norwegian domestic market. However, in 2002, Norwegian transitioned into a low-cost carrier, marking a significant shift in its operations. With the introduction of Boeing 737 aircraft, the airline expanded its reach beyond Norway, offering affordable flights to a growing number of destinations across Europe.

Today, Virtual Norwegian mirrors the growth and development of the real-world airline, with a focus on high realism and an authentic experience. Our operations span everything from short domestic flights within Norway to long-haul flights across Europe, offering pilots a wide variety of routes to explore. With a seasonal route portfolio, you’ll find that no two flying experiences are the same, as we constantly update our operations to reflect the real-world changes in Norwegian's schedules.

A Modern and Diverse Fleet

Virtual Norwegian offers a range of aircraft, including the iconic Boeing 737 series, with the 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 leading the charge. Our fleet also includes historic aircraft from Norwegian’s past, such as the Boeing 737-300, Boeing 787-8, and 787-9 Dreamliners, allowing pilots to experience the evolution of Norwegian’s fleet over the years. For those interested in regional operations, you can take the helm of the Fokker 50 or the classic McDonnell Douglas MD-8x series, transporting passengers on domestic and short regional routes. We also offer leased Airbus A320 aircraft, adding another layer of diversity to your flying experience.

The Addition of Widerøe Operations

To make your experience even more dynamic, we also model the operations of Widerøe, Norway’s largest regional airline. Widerøe’s extensive network of domestic flights, particularly to smaller airports across Northern and Western Norway, adds another layer of depth to Virtual Norwegian. You can fly the reliable Bombardier Dash 8 series, including the Dash 8-100, 200, 300, and Q400, which are perfect for challenging landings on short runways in Norway's stunning fjords and mountainous regions.

For longer regional flights, we offer the Embraer 190-E2, a modern, fuel-efficient aircraft that Widerøe uses on its expanding network of international and domestic routes. The addition of Widerøe’s fleet opens up new possibilities, whether you're navigating through Norway’s rugged terrain or connecting passengers to larger Norwegian hubs.

Endless Opportunities and Realism

With a total fleet of around 140 aircraft, Virtual Norwegian delivers a high level of authenticity. You can experience the same operational challenges, such as weather conditions and seasonal demand fluctuations, that real-world pilots face. Our route network spans 187 destinations across Europe, ensuring that you’ll never run out of places to explore. The constant evolution of our fleet and routes reflects the dynamic nature of modern aviation, making Virtual Norwegian the perfect home for serious flight simulation enthusiasts.

Whether you’re looking to fly short hops within Norway, explore scenic routes to hidden gems in Europe, or take on the challenge of flying large jets on long-haul routes, Virtual Norwegian offers something for everyone.
